AI news, 5 November 2026: India released its own foundation models — AcquihireTech blog

AI news, 5 November 2026: India released its own foundation models.

On 3 November 2026 the IndiaAI Mission under India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology released three indigenous foundation models: EKA-1 from Soket Labs Technology and Research, an open sparse hybrid model with 26.3 billion parameters trained on approximately 7.5 trillion tokens across all 22 scheduled Indian languages and English for maths, code, reasoning and agentic use, and the open-source Dhir 2B and Dhir 5B from ZenteiQ AiTech Innovations, multilingual assistants supporting English and 10 Indian languages for secure, on-premise, offline-capable, document-grounded automation and knowledge retrieval across defence, government, industrial and education sectors. The same day Menlo Ventures published 2026: The State of Enterprise AI, reporting that enterprise AI deployment spending rose from $33 billion to $176.8 billion by September 2026, up 5.4x year over year, that enterprises spend about $1.70 deploying AI for every $1 the industry spends building models, that Anthropic, OpenAI and Google together captured $122.7 billion or 69 percent of deployment dollars, that Anthropic's share of enterprise LLM API spend rose from 40 to 55 percent while Google's fell from 21 to 9 percent, and that agents now generate 80 percent of tokens on OpenRouter. Anthropic's platform release notes dated 3 November 2026 added Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 to the models whose text carries Anthropic's text watermark, with the caveat that on Sonnet 4.6 a request setting temperature, top_p or top_k to a non-default value might not carry it. OpenAI's API changelog dated 4 November 2026 introduced GPT-Image-2.6 Sunburst and GPT-Image-2.6 Flare, adding adjustable complexity, SVG output and animated GIF generation and extending markup-guided editing. AWS announced on 3 November 2026 that Amazon WorkSpaces for AI agents now supports Linux cloud desktops with full root access and Windows 11 desktops alongside Windows Server.

AI news, 2 November 2026: the bill for an agent now has a name on it.

AWS published four items on 30 October 2026 that together describe the operational layer around AI agents: a five-stage Amazon Bedrock cost playbook stating that Bedrock attributes inference cost to the IAM principal that made the call, surfaced in the line_item_iam_principal column of Cost and Usage Report 2.0, with cost allocation tags activated through the Billing console or the UpdateCostAllocationTagsStatus API appearing in Cost Explorer within 24 to 48 hours, three enforcement tiers running from AWS Budgets alerts to a Lambda and DynamoDB deny policy on bedrock:* to a gateway returning HTTP 429 synchronously, and cache writes for Claude models in US East (N. Virginia) priced at 1.25x the base input rate; a customer account in which Worldwide Express, working with AWS and LTM, placed three task-specific agents on freight billing exceptions inside its SpeedShip transportation management system behind human approval, reporting six months after launch a 75 percent reduction in active exception backlog from 15 million to 4 million US dollars, a four-week improvement in time-to-cash, a 10 million US dollar free cash flow infusion, 1 million US dollars in annual savings, about 10,000 exceptions closed weekly at an error rate below 1 percent across more than 40 LTL carriers, bulk approval becoming default only after accuracy exceeded 99 percent, and a stated 60x first-year ROI; a configuration guide making the ChatGPT desktop app available on Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US) through the Bedrock Mantle endpoint in us-gov-west-1 with Work and Codex components, GPT models via the Responses API, zero data retention, per-token pricing with no seat licences, a network allowlist that blocks OpenAI and ChatGPT domains, and an explicit statement that the guide does not authorise a workload; and session endpoints for the Bedrock AgentCore runtime giving each session an authenticated URL that forwards HTTP and WebSocket traffic to between one and five allowed ports inside the 8000 to 12000 range, returned in the X-Amzn-Bedrock-AgentCore-Runtime-Session-Endpoint-Url header of the InvokeAgentRuntime response. Separately, NVIDIA described Breakthrough Listen and the SETI Institute running agentic AI at the Allen Telescope Array through the Nexus observatory orchestrator with NVIDIA Holoscan, the DAQIRI library and CyberEther on CUDA-X, at 2.4 terabits per second on RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs with on-premises inference, producing the first real-time AI detection of a pulsar in the Crab Nebula.

Google's Search Central blog and Microsoft's Bing blog both published on 30 October 2026 in support of a shared robots.txt policy token for AI training preferences, specified in the IETF Internet-Draft Machine-Readable Training Preference Signal authored by Kevin Kelley of Anthropic and dated 30 October 2026, under which a User-Agent group naming the token carries Disallow and Allow rules, a wildcard group must not be read as matching it, and the absence of such a group expresses no preference; Google said it aims to support the control along with other AI providers in 2027 and will interpret a token opt-out as a Google-Extended disallow where Google-Extended is not named separately, while Microsoft said it begins honouring the new preferences as it crawls from 1 February 2027, opens temporary grounding preferences in Bing Webmaster Tools on 15 December 2026, stops reading NoArchive and NoCache as training or grounding preferences after 1 March 2027, and separates site-wide AI Training from page-level AI Grounding with Allow, disallowextended and disallow values; Microsoft also filed a Rule 433 pricing term sheet dated 29 October 2026 for 25 billion US dollars of senior unsecured notes across ten tranches with coupons from 4.850 percent due 2028 to 6.350 percent due 2066, rated Aaa by Moody's and AAA by S&P, settling 4 November 2026, while its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 September 2026 reported cash additions to property and equipment of 39.367 billion US dollars against 19.394 billion a year earlier; Google announced on 29 October 2026 that Gemini app users can generate, preview and edit documents, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets and code inside the chat, with PDF editing on web and mobile and other formats web only; Hugging Face published AnySpeechRecognizer and AnyDecisionModel on 29 October 2026, two Swift packages giving Apple's SpeechAnalyzer API swappable local engines including NVIDIA Parakeet and Qwen3-ASR with diarization for up to four speakers, where Parakeet Unified recorded 1.43 percent word error rate on LibriSpeech test-clean against Apple's 2.12 percent; and IBM published Granite Switch 4.1.1 on 29 October 2026, a backward-compatible patch release that retrained only a 0.5B ten-language speech recognition model and a Decision adapter while leaving the base model unchanged.
